'Safe Driver Initiative®' (SDI) to Raise Tractor Trailer Safety Awareness
“The SDI program is a great opportunity for companies to take advantage of another set of trained eyes as we all try to improve the safety of our roadways,” said John Conley, President of the National Tank Truck Carriers.
Benefits - No cost to trucking companies. To enroll, contact HMHTTC's safety department at 1-800-927-9337 or fill out our contact form.
- The SDI program will provide additional eyes for the trucking industry and help bring driver safety awareness to a new level in 2007.
- The SDI program will help monitor and reduce the number of tractor trailer accidents and the resulting human, environmental and public safety concerns.
- Potential reduction in accidents, fatalities, vehicle damage, environmental liabilities, excess wear and tear
How it works All HMHTTC emergency response managers -- who are highly trained in safety protocol and log more than two million miles annually in their emergency response vehicles -- will notify HMHTTC’s safety department of any observed unsafe driving activities by tractor trailer drivers.
Once notified, HMHTTC will make a courtesy call to the trucking company’s safety department, making them aware of the incident, including the vehicle unit number, location and time of day.
How to Join (No cost program) Contact our Safety Department at 1-800-927-9337 with your information (company name, contact name, phone, address) or Complete the following contact form.
